BURMA (INS)—Many cyclone survivors are receiving emergency aid, and dozens of non-believers are becoming Christians as a result of the work of Witnessing For Christ in Burma, also known as Myanmar.
“By God’s help and your participation we were privileged to show the love of God to many, especially to our Burmese Buddhists when we considered their need above our own Christian brethren,” reports Rev. Ronnie, leader of WFC. “We find that they are deeply touched and quite a number of the Buddhists now ask about Christ and praise the Lord. Two to three dozens of non-believing victims have accepted Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord!
“With regard to our relief activities, I am glad we were able to help not only our Christian brethren but also many non-believers with food and clothing, blankets, clean water, medicine, etc., immediately for both Yangon and the Delta areas.
“Sometimes, we come across a small group of believers in a community where they also have a community hall which is being used as a worship centre,” explains Ronnie. “For such people, we are glad to assist in rebuilding a permanent-type house completely, as well as assembly halls. For such projects, we feel we can use donations that come with specific instructions to build houses for Christians only. So our first phase of the project being relief work, we were able to help several thousand people in the Delta area as well as Yangon by your love gifts. We were also able to show love and kindness by providing temporary shelters, permanent buildings, individual houses, and even churches wherever we are able to.”
