After 34 years of ministry based out of rental properties, Student Missionary Outreach has found its Promised Land. SMO, which is partnered with Intercede, has just acquired a three-hectare property in Negros Occidental, which will house its Bible school. Pray for SMO as it develops this new property and uses it for God’s Kingdom.

Believers in a strategic city of northern Laos believe a church building should be erected there as a visible symbol for Christ in the province. They have been meeting in a house church that they have outgrown. This growing church congregation has been sacrificially offering funds for a building, but they need an extra $15,000 to give them the means to start construction. Their prayer is that the church will open the door for reaching the whole province with the Gospel.

We praise God for the many thousands of lost souls who have come to the Lord through the work of native missionaries during 2011. We are glad that our prayers were answered as thousands of new churches have been planted in places where the name of Christ was previously unknown. We also thank everyone who gave or prayed for indigenous missions during this past year. Your contributions have helped more than 50 Christian ministries deliver the Gospel in many lands closed to the Gospel. Pray that in 2012 the light of the Gospel will shine in more places than ever before.

More than one million refugees have fled Ivory Coast to escape the bitter civil war precipitated by the fraudulent election of French-backed president Alassan Ouattara. Christ Evangelical Fellowship Ministries missionaries are working in the refugee camps, delivering aid and providing holistic help to the suffering victims. Pray for the means to feed and share the Gospel with the large number of Ivorian refugees who have settled in Liberia from neighbouring Ivory Coast due to the recent civil strife and violence.

Sundar and his team of 100 co-workers have been in the forefront of planting churches in Nepal for 25 years. They preached the Gospel and won souls in the hills and the plains at a time when it was still illegal and dangerous to preach or be converted to Christianity. The Lord has continued to bless this work among unreached tribes and other ethnic groups. Evangelical Christian Fellowship needs $5,100 to reconstruct a very old church building that is falling apart.

Jehovah Jireh School founder Rev. Bernardo Balayo was hospitalized in November for severe asthma attacks and pneumonia. “His kidneys are also failing and he has to undergo peritoneal dialysis,” reports his son, Allan, who directs the ministry. Segadores leader Peter Hocking requests that we remember in prayer Segadores’ Annual Cross-Cultural Missionary Training, which takes place Jan. 16 to Feb. 28, 2012 in Lima. “Pray that God will supply the right teachers, and bring us the trainees of His choice,” writes Hocking. “We desire to see a deep work of God in lives.”

“Recently, some of our staff faced flood situation and lost their food crops, animals and houses were destroyed,” reports Orissa Follow-Up leader D. B. Hrudaya. “Some of them are seriously ill. One brother lost his mother due to lack of medical assistance. Another brother lost his father. Yet another brothers' mother is seriously sick and needs medical help. I trust that you will join with us in prayers for above- mentioned challenges.” Pray for healing for those missionaries and their families who are seriously ill.

One of the family care centres for Father’s House ministry is home to 32 orphaned children. The heating system broke down just when cold weather was approaching. “We found an alternative system of heating which will reduce costs by three or four times,” writes ministry leader, Roman Korniyko. Praise God they were able to start work immediately, but the ministry still needs $5,500 to finish the job. Pray for these funds to be provided.

Bethesda Restoration Ministries is a mission Intercede recently started to work with in Cameroon. Leader Ndoke Ndoke Linus reports that one building BRM was renting for worship services has been purchased by a new owner who does not want a church to meet there. He has given this ministry one month to leave the building. Pray that this ministry will find a new building as soon as possible for that congregation.

As political problems continue in Middle Eastern countries such as Syria and Egypt, pray for God’s peace to reign, and for God’s people to be shining witnesses for Him. In this predominantly Muslim country, it is often difficult for new believers to find adequate space for fellowship meetings. Because of few opportunities for renting, believers must build their own church meeting places. With personal sacrifices, a growing community of believers in Kazakhstan has already purchased a parcel of land and some building materials. They need $10,000 to finish the building.

“There is strong necessity to open a soup kitchen in the town of Kraslava for children from poor families,” reports Latvian Evangelical Mission. “65 to 70% of inhabitants of Kraslav a live on the poverty threshold. We already have a location and volunteers from the church ready to serve. With $250 to $300 per week, we could feed about 100 children in Kraslava. Doing this, they would have opportunity to hear the Gospel. Please, pray for our sisters ready to serve children in a soup kitchen.”

Transportation continues to be a major need for Intercede’s ministry partners around the world. Bicycles and motorcycles are needed to help missionaries take the Gospel farther and faster. Pray that Intercede will be able to Give Them Wheels. Intercede thanks those who have given generously toward this need over the past year.

As Islamic influences increase in their country, Christians feel an urgency to spread the Gospel. Indigenous Ministry of Bangladesh has about 25 missionaries working in this mission field, and 45 fellowships have already been started. Their prayer is for 10,000 Gospel tracts designed for Muslims ($1,700) to be used as part of their outreach to more districts in the country.

Thank you for your prayers for Freddie and Dorothy Sun’s ministry and their health. Recently, the Suns reported to Intercede that after suffering for several years from cancer, Freddie has been completely healed. Praise God!

“We need your prayers now!” urges Barb Lataillade, of Living Word Ministries. “Patrick just called from Haiti, and there is a cholera outbreak in the villages. Two people have died in Mayette. Children are crying—they are so afraid. People are fearful. People are discouraged. Pray for this situation!” Patrick Lataillade stayed in Haiti to help out with that situation. Pray for those affected by cholera, and for LWM and its medical ministry work.

Mercy Christian School is a private school run by Thailand Strategic Outreach that offers a free education to disadvantaged children living in poor rural villages in Northeast Thailand. It is an important outreach to the people there. Pray for 400 students who need assistance to attend this school (about $230 per student).

The leader of Bible School for Indigenous Peoples requests that we pray that the Lord will break all the bonds of witchcraft, animistic and ancestral worship, and drug addiction that have enslaved the Huichol tribe. “As more and more young people come to Christ they feel called to serve the Lord,” reports Slavik Radchuk, of Good Samaritan Mission. “We are starting Video Bible Schools to train them in the Caucasus, Russia, Ukraine, and Belorussia. We expect 270 applications. Please pray that funds ($8,300) will be supplied for this crucial need while the fields are ripe, but the harvesters few.”
