N. Bible Seminary is a four-year school located in a suburb of C. For the first three years, students are taught theology, missiology, church history, Hebrew and Greek. The last year is spent gaining practical experience by working in the mission field. Students travel throughout 13 provinces in China to work among Muslims, Tibetans, and tribal people at the “ends of the earth.” They need $5,000 a month for operations and mission trip expenses.

A church in a remote Nepal village recently had 28 water baptisms, reports the leader Gospel Outreach Centre. He writes, “Thank you for your help in the construction of the church building. As a result, membership has grown and they now hold two services.” A growing church in another village needs $12,000 for a meeting hall to accommodate the increasing number of believers.

Bharat Bible College offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees to those who are called to full-time ministry. Since its inception in 1969, more than a thousand have graduated and started ministries planting churches among unreached tribes. Many of the students come from poor villages and are unable to meet all of the costs, despite working on campus. Please pray that each one will be able to fulfil their goals. A gift of $30 per month (or $360 per year) provides a scholarship for one student.

James Cuffee, leader of Christ Evangelistic Fellowship Ministries, is grateful to God for the generous Canadians who have been assisting that ministry financially. He is also grateful for receiving a visa to visit Canada this fall. Pray that many Canadians will meet and hear this faithful missionary while he is in Canada in September and early October.

Missionaries with Churches of Ayacucho evangelize door-to-door in villages and one-on-one in hospitals. They also go to open-air markets and plazas, playing musical instruments to draw a crowd. Between performances, the missionaries share the Gospel. Most of the people come from animistic backgrounds and are very receptive to this festive approach in presenting the Gospel. When people respond, COA missionaries provide them with a Bible in their own language. These missionaries need at least 400 Quechua language Bibles for evangelism and discipleship ($8 each).

In early March, in a village near Hubli city, some Hindu extremists people attacked two Siloam Evangelical Fellowship pastors while they were praying in a house and beat them terribly. “They have taken their Bibles with bags, mike set, watches and cell phones,” reports SEF’s leader. “The pastors have been admitted in hospital and after a week they have been discharged. Now they are doing better but having body pains. Not only in Hubli but in the whole Karnataka State such hindrances are taking place every day - and believers are going on knees before the Lord’s feet. Thank you very much for your continued support of prayers.”

“There is strong necessity to open a soup kitchen in the town of Kraslava for children from poor families,” reports Latvian Evangelical Mission. “65 to 70% of inhabitants of Kraslav a live on the poverty threshold. We already have a location and volunteers from the church ready to serve. With $250 to $300 per week, we could feed about 100 children in Kraslava. Doing this, they would have opportunity to hear the Gospel. Please, pray for our sisters ready to serve children in a soup kitchen.”

Children and Youth Evangelism has become a challenge for the church in Pakistan since the government nationalized Christian schools and colleges in the 1970s. Thank the Lord that Pakistan Gospel Assemblies has opened its first 10 Christian schools. PGA intends to open more Christian schools; develop Christian educational material; present Christian music concerts, support youth seminars and evangelism activities for their spiritual growth.

Pastor Z. is facing the death penalty in Iran because the government accuses him of converting to Christianity from Islam. He denies this because he was never a committed Muslim. Pray for freedom for him–that he will not be executed, but will be released from prison. Please also intercede for God’s protection of all Christians in Iran who are in prison, and for release of these prisoners.

Jehovah Jireh School is commemorating their founder, Bernardo Balayo, who went to be with the Lord on February 6. For 50 years he reached Samal and Tausug Muslims through his school, evangelizing the students and planting churches among their parents. Many former Muslims in Mindanao received Christ through his ministry. The school is still teaching Muslim children, while sharing the Gospel. Pray for God’s continued blessing on this outreach.

“Praise the Lord, the Lord has done it again,” declared C., leader of an indigenous ministry in Nigeria. “Two Muslim families from Kano state gave their lives to Christ in the midst of a Boko Haram attack. They testified that there was no reason to be Muslim when many innocent people died in their hands.” This ministry has taken these new converts and some family members to live in a safe new location.

The B. Orphanage has 44 Tibetan orphans, and among them 13 are disabled with various maladies: mental retardation, stunted growth, and inoperable tumour on the spine. Currently the orphanage needs a van to transport the orphans to school and elsewhere. Please pray for this need.

Several months ago, Canadians were shocked to see the living conditions of First Nations people in Attawapiskat, Ontario. Rev. Ross Maracle, founder of Camp Ohahaseh, is spearheading an effort to raise funds to build a new youth centre in that community. Pray for Maracle and his team’s plans to fund and build the new youth centre.

Tragedy struck the village of Mitrapur in March when a fire hit the home of O. He was badly burnt, although his wife and children escaped unharmed. “After reaching at the hospital, doctors examined and declared O. cannot survive,” reported Orissa Follow-Up. “He was brought back to his home after eight hours of first aid treatment. Believers of our church gathered around him and began to pray. Surprisingly his arms and legs began to move. He was given water to drink, and then he came back to life. Praise to be God for granting him life again.” Intercede for O.’s complete recovery ($400 per month needed for treatment).

Southern Sudan Mission requests prayer for resolution of a new conflict situation in South Sudan. Some militant Muslims from Khartoum are trying to take away oil from South Sudan. “Many women, children and older people were killed in this tribal fighting, and many civilians became Internally Displaced People,” reports SSM. Pray that SSM will get the resources needed to help out some of these suffering people.
